HYBRID SOLAR SYSTEMS
Don't Rely on ESCOM
Hybrid solar electric systems generate electricity for your home or business from both solar PV and from grid-tied sources. Excess day-time power from your solar panels is stored in battery banks, enabling them to operate as a backup power supply for use during periods of load-shedding or at night (when your solar panels are not producing electricity). Your battery banks will be charged by both your solar panels (during the daytime) and the utility's power (either at night, or when there is insufficient sunlight).
OFF-GRID SOLAR SYSTEMS
No More Generators
An off-grid solar system is designed for the power needs of more remote households or businesses. Unlike a hybrid solar system, off-grid systems have no connection with the utility grid and must generate all the electricity required to power your home. Off-grid solar systems operate from the stored energy in a battery bank, and solar panels are used to keep the battery bank charged. Your off-grid solar system has to be sized properly to support your daily power needs and replace the stored energy pulled from the battery bank.
